It's Been A Long Couple Of Days

The viewing for Jason's Gram was on Sunday and then the funeral was on Monday. It was a very nice service. Jason has never bought a suit, so on Saturday night we went to JC Penny's to try to find him one. Thankfully, the salesman knew (and cared) about what we needed and was very eager to help (I'm assuming he worked on commission, but whatever, he was helpful!). As always, money is tight, so we searched for the best deal. Jason got a $300 suit for $99.99! I was thrilled! It was so nice. Then we picked out a dress shirt and tie (I was really pulling for the purple), the salesman showed us a red shirt with a matching tie (a person could wear a different tie everyday of their life and still never touch the selection of men's ties at Penny's, it was unbelievable), but in the end Jason did go for a plum colored shirt and tie (close enough to purple). As it turns out, purple seemed to be the manly color at the service because he was one of many that sported the color! I thought he looked great:

Oh, and by the way, Jason tied his own tie for the first time in his life (can you tell we don't work in offices!!). With a little help from the handy dandy Internet, he had his tie tied in no time (well, actually, it did take quite a few times, but....) and he was very proud of himself!

After a long day, Mason was antsy and wanted to goof off a little, so here are some pics from that:

So, things should get back to normal and I will be posting some more things that I have done.

Later.

I am glad to see your blog back. I can well imagine it was a tough time. Jason looks great. He can really pull off the GQ look. Very nice suit.
Shades of purple historically have been worn by those in mourning, so the shirt and tie were appropriate choices.
Loved the Elvis-karate photos of the little angel.
